FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
New Appointment - Bishop Fabbro announced this
week that he has named me as Bishop’s Delegate for
misconduct cases. This means I will have the responsibility of dealing with any claims regarding sexual
abuse and other kinds of abuse by anyone working for
the diocese. This includes priests, deacons, all lay ecclesial ministers (parish nurses, coordinators of youth
ministry and pastoral ministers), and all staff. This is a
huge responsibility, as you can imagine, and I will
need the support of your prayers.
While the time commitment for this new role is
uncertain, we will be monitoring the amount of time
spent in this work, to ensure that parish work does not
suffer. I am confident that our pastoral team and staff
will be working diligently to continue to provide the
best pastoral care in the parish, and support me as
Bishop’s Delegate. Please pray for me.
Christmas Masses - Our Christmas Mass schedule
remains the same as in previous years. There are
changes to the schedule of Masses for the weekdays
after Christmas and New Years. Please note the changes in this and the up-coming weekly bulletins. (We
are printing one-page bulletins for these weeks.)
Please note: there will be no confessions on
the next two Saturdays, December 27th and January
3rd. The regular confession schedule resumes on January 10th.
Year-end Donations - Once again, I thank all who
have responded to our year-end appeal. I’m happy to
announce that we are able to send $60,000 to the diocese for our debt, and we’ll pay in addition the interest
costs for these last six months, approximately $8,000.
This will take our debt to less than $150,000. Thanks
to all who have supported the building campaign –
your generosity is appreciated.

2015 Offertory Envelopes: The numbers change each
year, therefore it is important that your name and address be
printed on your envelopes once you begin using them in
January 2015. If you would like to begin using envelopes or
the pre-authorized gift (PAG) program, then please contact
Angie at the office 519-455-3217 ext. 10.
