Rachana Narayanankutty,
Rachana Narayanankutty is a famous Mohiniyattam exponent who hails from
the cultural city of Kerala, Thrissur. Rachana has won the title of “Kalathilakam”
for many years in her school and college days and has represented Kerala in
the National Youth Festival held in Lucknow. She is noted TV anchor and artist
(Marimayom) and is a wellknown heroine in film industry.

Prateeksha Kashi, who hails from
an artistic family of the legendary Dr
Gubbi Veeranna, is being trained in
Kuchipudi under the guidance of her
mother and guru Smt. Vyjayanthi
Kashi, a celebrated performer
and choreographer. Prateeksha
was honored with the 37th annual
“Aryabhata International Award-2011”
for excellence in Kuchipudi. She has the
titles of Nalanda Nritya Nipuna, Nritya
Jyoti, etc. to her credits. She has toured
all over the world with her perfomances.
Meera Sreenarayanan is pursuing
diploma in Bharathanatyam and
Mohiniyattam at Kalabharathi, Thrissur.
Meera has been learning dance from
the age four years. Presently she is
pursuing Bharathanatyam under Guru
Kalashetra Nirmala Nagraj, (Chennai).
She has won the “Kala Thilakam” award
and Nritha Prathibha Award from Calicut
University in 2012. A recipient of NCERT
scholarship for creative performance,
she is a 2nd year physics student in
Sreekrishna College, Guruvayur.

Nrithya Pillai considers herself
blessed to have been born from
an ancestry of nattuvanars who
were teachers to the Chola royalty.
She is the great granddaughter
of Padmashri Vazhuvoor Ramiah
Pillai and the grand daughter of
Swamimalai S K Rajarathnam
Pillai. She performs, practices and
inculcates the Vazhuvoor style
of Bharathanatyam in its purest
format. She aspires to become
another torchbearer of the
Vazhuvoor Bani.

in Kathak and a recipient of
Scholarship for excellence in
Kathak from Centre for Cultural
Resources & Training, Ministry of
Cultural Affairs, Government of
India. She has been performing
at various places and Festivals
since last 15 years namely Goa,
Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh,
Meghalaya and Maharashtra.
Ruhi is the founder and Director
of Nupur Kathak Kendra (NKK),
a School of Kathak, which is
aimed at encouraging youth to
learn and know Kathak so as to
preserve, nurture and promote this
Traditional art form.

male dancers who performs Mohiniyattom
and took his diploma and post diploma
in Mohiniyattam from RLV college,
Thripunithura. He obtained his M A in
Mohiniyattam with first rank from M G
University and later took his M Phil from
Kerala Kalamandalam deemed University.
Currently he is doing his research in
Mohiniyattom at Kerala Kalamandalam.
He has won the M G University
“Kalaprathibha” award in 2001.
Moumita Ghosh started learning
Odissi dance from a tender age
under the guidance of renowned
Guru, Padmashri Smt. Madhavi
Mudgal at the Gandharva
Mahavidyala, New Delhi. She was
privileged to be blessed by the
doyen of Odissi dance, Late Guru
Kelucharan Mohapatra in the form
of receiving training by attending his
periodic workshops conducted by
Guruji. She has taken the Visharad
Poorna degree in Odissi dance
conducted by the Akhil Bhartiya
Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal,
Mumbai. Moumita has performed at
various national and international
dance festivals. Her performance
abroad include Young Dancer’s
Festival at the Attic 2006, Mexico
(2007), Anubhuti Cultural Centre,
Belgium (2007) and Maison d l’Inde,
Paris (2007).

Chatura Gamini,
Chatura Gamini is the coming together of four young, energetic and talented dancers Aditi, Anju,
Gowri and Pruthvi. Trained under the able guidance of Bangalore’s famous Guru Sathynarayana
Raju, they have won the hearts of rasikas for unique choreographies and their energy level.
Rooted in the Indian dance tradition of Bharathanatyam they try to outstand with their strong
choreographies and intricate movements. Complimenting each others talent and abilities they
have set off on a dance journey that they will cherish and enjoy.
Sneha hails from Guruvayur, Kerala and was initiated
into the Kuchipudi dance, by Guru Vempati Ravi Shankar
and Vedantam Ramu at the Kuchipudi Art Academy,
Chennai founded by the legendary Padmabhushan Guru
Dr.Vempati Chinna Sathyam, the doyen of Kuchipudi.
Presently, she is under the tutelage of renowned Guru
Natyavisharada Smt. Anupama Mohan in Kerala. She
was honoured with Suvarna Mayuri award for the best
upcoming Kuchipudi dancer in the year 2012 and was
selected for the Mahabrinda Natyam organized by
International Federation of Kuchipudi Dancers Association
(IFKA) and Silicon Andhra at Hyderabad which found
entry into the Guinness Book of Records.

Gowri Sagar is a professional Bharathanatyam
dancer from Bangalore who has been trained in the
art form for the past 20 years. Her mother Vidushi
Smt Shamala Aswath, is her first guru. Currently
she is undergoing advanced training under Vidwan
Satyanarayana Raju and is pursuing her master’s
degree in Bharatanatyam from “Jain University”
Bangalore. Gowri has performed extensively
at prominent dance festivals in India and her
International performances include “Kannada
Rajyostava Festival” organized by Kannada Koota,
Dubai, UAE in 2008 and “International Arts Festival,
Belarus, Russia” in 2012.

Barma, Tripura
Surajit Deb Barma was born in
Tripura, a cultural heritage of NorthEast. He is a disciple of Guru K.
Jatindra Singh, Guru K Sunita
Devi and Guru Y Hemanta Kumar
from Santiniketan. He holds his
B.A degree in Manipuri dance and
received the merit scholarship
from ‘’Visva-Bharati’’ University,
Santiniketan and is pursuing his
M.A in Manipuri dance. For his
contributions in the field of Manipuri
Dance he has been honoured
with the awards like Nrutya Jyoti,
Nritya Jayanthika and Anupamma
Samman. He has performed in
various prestigious dance festivals in
the state and country.

Hyderabad, is one of the senior most
disciples of Guru. Smt. Hemamalini Arni
who comes from the T Balasaraswati
and Vazhuvoor Ramaiah Pillai Schools
of Bharathanatyam. She has performed

Gana Sabha (Chennai), Konark Jhulan
Utsav (Konark), Saraswati Gana Sabha
(Kakinada), Melattur Bhagavatham Mela
(Melattur), Brahan Natyanjali Festival for
Sivarathri (Thanjavur), Nrityathi Danse
festival (Bhilai), Naveen Kalakar Utsav
(Bhubaneswar), AP Bhavan (Delhi),
Vishakha Music Academy (Vizag) to
name a few in India. She has won the
title ‘Nrithya Vilasini’ from Nrithyathi
Kalakshetra, Bhilai.
Saji Menon, Mumbai
Saji Menon is a disciple of renowned Mohiyattam
exponent and scholar, Padmabhushan Smt Dr
Kanak Rele, founder and education director of the
Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya. Saji holds a MFA
(Mohiniyattam) degree with first class distinction from
the Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya, affiliated to
the Mumbai University. Saji has been part of many
prestigious shows and dance festivals in India and
abroad such as “Nritya Pratibha” organized by the
Sangeet Natak Academy and the Khajuraho Dance
Festival. She has also accompanied her Guru Dr. Rele
to Sri Lanka in August 2012 on the occasion of 66th
Independence Day celebrations sponsored by the
Indian Council for Cultural Relations in association with
the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Arts, Government of
Sri Lanka.

Manju. V. Nair completed her

Anjali Balan
Anjali Balan hails from Ernakulam and has been studying

from Kerala Kalamandalam. She has done her B.A
Mohiniyattam with 1st Rank from Kerala Kalamandalam and
has finished P.G in Mohiniyattam from the same institution
in 2012 December.
Athreya Chennai
Lakshmi is Disciple of Padmasri Smt Chitra
Visweswaran at Chidambaram Academy of
Performing Arts (CAPA) Chennai for the past
29 years. She is the recipient of the CCRT
Scholarship from The Govt. of India. She has
participated in several Dance productions of
Guru Smt. Chitra Visweswaran and performed at
various prestigious festivals all over the country
including The Konark Dance Festival, The
Mahabalipuram Dance Festival and in Colombo.
She was invited to perform for the International
Dance Alliance along with other reputed dancers
to present ‘Krishnam Vande Jagathgurum’ under
the guidance of Padmabushan Prof. Sudharani
Raghupathi in Aug 2010.
Lakshmi is an Empanelled artist with the ICCR
– Indian Council for Cultural Relations and has
been awarded ‘Yuva Kala Bharathi’ by Bharat
Kalachar in Dec 2009. Also she is the recipient
of the Rohini Krishna Endowment Award for best
dancer, awarded by Sri Krishna Gana Sabha,
Chennai in 2003.

Madhava Peddhi Murthy, who are both the
disciples of the legendary Kuchipudi dancer,
(late) Padmabhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna
Sathyam. She has been honoured with the
title, “Natya Kausthubham” for her excellence
in Kuchipudi. She has also received national
scholarship for Kuchipudi, issued by the
Dept. of Culture, Govt. of India. Chandralekha
is a graded artist in Doordarshan and has
also performed in several prestigious dance
festivals across India.
