Is the property leasehold or freehold?
All of the land, house and apartments shown here are freehold title. There are no restrictions on foreign ownership of these properties in
Japan.
What settlement costs are payable when I purchase a property in Japan?
Real estate settlement costs in Japan consist of tax, registration, and legal fees. Tax laws can change and personal circumstances will impact
the tax analysis. The estimated settlement costs are between 3% and 4% of the purchase price based upon our recent experience.
Who will be managing my house while I am overseas?
Midori no Ki (“MnK”) is a Japanese property management company that takes care of all of the bill payments, local regulatory requirements,
and nightly rentals for owners interested in renting out their home. MnK has earned a #1 and #2 ranking from guests on TripAdvisor for
their attention to detail while providing hospitality service to guests.
What are the on-going running costs for owning a property in Japan?
The running costs fixed asset tax, utilities, snow clearing & landscaping, and community related or shared expenses as per each property or
development. The costs vary from year to year as the tax amount is decided by a government valuation of the property, utilities are based
upon usage and snow clearing is a factor of the snow fall. We can provide historic running costs per property.
