Happy New Year
Term 1– January
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
End Of Year
The end of another busy and successful school year is nearly upon us. On
Monday KT, 4/5A and 5/6H accompanied me to the pool for our uniform
reward Pool Party. Staff and students
had a swim, enjoyed a BBQ lunch and
rode the slide and had a great time –
another bonus for wearing your uniform to school! We’ve also had the
Year 6 Farewell, Presentation Assembly, Class Parties and the Principal’s
luncheon enjoyed last week so it’s
been a hectic but enjoyable end to the
year.
Staff Development Day Change
Next year staff will be participating in
some Professional Learning on Tuesday 27th January and students will be
commencing school on Wednesday
28th January. This will remain as
planned. What I propose is to hold our
Term 2 SDD on Saturday 31st January
so staff can complete some PL based
around more effective ways of teaching
Spelling and Reading by Emma HartnellBaker. This will have no effect on the
students; it just means staff will not attend the SDD set down for the 20th April
as it will already be completed on the 31st
January. Any issues with this please see
the front office.
2015
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank
the school community, staff and students
for their contributions throughout 2014. It
has been a very successful year and what
we’ve achieved has been possible
through the collaborative efforts of all
involved. All the best for a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New
Year.

Kindergarten Meets the
Fire Department
Kindergarten had a visit from the
Fire & Rescue Team. The Fireman
reinforced the fire drill of stop, drop, cover & roll
& also quizzed our children about the emergency
services & the 000 phone number. The students then
had a tour through the fire truck & all had a turn
holding & squirting water from the big hose.
