Making the most of
your investment in
our community
Our United Way changes lives for the better. When you invest
in United Way, you help people in need. You help make
families strong. You feed the hungry. You help children grow
and develop to their full potential. You’re there when a man,
woman, or child needs a safe haven from domestic violence.
You help people get the skills they need to be independent.
And, in times of disaster, you ensure that emergency
services are there to help people rebuild their lives.
Our United Way supports a local human service network
of 70 agencies/initiatives and over 170 programs that
create change. Your contribution to United Way is the
easiest and most powerful way to help people right here
in our community to lead better lives.
All of the money raised stays right here in our community.
Your gift to United Way goes directly to meet the needs of our
community – making this our community a better place to
live and to work.
The United Way Allocation process utilizes over 350
community leaders who visit and review every United Way
supported program to ensure that your gift is being spent
efficiently and effectively.
Our United Way prides itself on our low overhead costs.
90.7% of all the money raised goes directly to programs that
truly make a difference in people’s lives.
You can make a difference when you show your support
of United Way. You can help people get the services they
need by spreading the word about United Way 211 and
the United Way Neighborhood Houses. Helping people
find the services they need through the United Way is a
powerful way to improve lives in our community.
Discover the reward of volunteering through the United
Way Volunteer Center. Whether an individual, a family,
or a company, the United Way Volunteer Center can help
connect you to the appropriate organization within the
amount time you have available. Opportunities for one
time projects or ongoing service are available.
